Why the servicing matters
What a system becomes when nobody services it.
Air is pulled across the indoor coil and pushed back into the room. The coil is cold and wet whenever the system runs, and the dust that lands on it stays there. Given a few years without a clean it builds into a mat that restricts airflow, and mould grows on the coil and in the drain tray behind it.
The system works harder for less cooling, and the room it is breathing into is usually shut.
